My sister sara has a gift for finding funny signs. I am learning from her. Here are a few for her (poor girl, nesting in the final month of her pregnancy.)
If you are caught in a rip currant tips. My favorite
1. Know how to swim
how about don't go in the water let alone the ocean if you can't swim. You are just asking for trouble!

What happened to those bumps

Seriously. Ben wants to know how much knowledge it takes?

very big shark

the funny thing is that I didn't know that ginormous plastic sharks swim in the ocean

changes in attitude/changes in latitude

I am about to have a change in attitude. For five days I can do nothing but sit and read and think with a daily nap thrown in here and there for the mom. Today the veranda tomorrow the beach.....
What can be better than that you ask? Maybe a baby with humidity hair.
The view from my napping spot today

The stairs to my own private beach.

Toes in fresh unmarked sand. Yes my feet are swollen.

My very own footprints.

Tiny Blessings

We did it! Check one more thing off the list! We blessed Gracie! Hooray! She is getting bigger and better everyday. She is off her oxygen completely and only on the other monitor at night. A friend said to me "she isn't a project anymore, she's a real baby!" It's true. We have been waiting to bless her until we felt like she wasn't so fragile. I went to church late (so people couldn't touch her) with her wrapped up tight in a blanket. We left after she was blessed, again so people wouldn't touch her. I was a tiny bit panicked when the little girl behind us started to cough up a lung. Oh boy, I am a germaphob now. We figured out that 33 years ago to the day I was blessed in this dress that my Grandma Joyce made. Grandma also made the white blanket that I have used for all my childrens blessings. Now little baby Schmalz will get to use it. Thanks Gigi. I know she was watching us from heaven.

Today it rained. For the first time in months. For all of 10 minutes. The first 25 drops fell and then the wind blew the red dirt from the construction behind our house and coated our windows. Do you know why it rained? I washed my windows yesterday. The doorbell rang and I answered to find this. The Desert children. Who don't really know what rain is, or any cold weather. Tyler cried when it snowed at our house last year,...he was scared. The drops were not quite enough to cool them off so they ran under the neighbors drainpipe to get a thourough soaking.

Rain in St. George is hot and muggy. Not cool and refreshing like the raintorms of my childhood.

Free from the hot dusty wind, they dance.

Keep dancing the cement isn't quite wet.

Thats better.

for the Aunties

Auntie Sara,
Here is a little preview of me before the weekend starts. Get here quick, just slow down in Cedar City.
Love and stuff,
Gracie
Auntie Rachel,
My mom says to come prepared to show her how to download songs on her/your ipod. She says she doesn't know any of the songs she has listened to so far and she needs to be able to sing along.
xoxoxoxo
Gracie

Auntie Becky,
Did you get the mouse?
Love,
Gracie
